@paulg how much would you throw at a social platform that was made to aggregate people's presence across the web, not create its own silo? Have any come across your path yet?
Took the GRE yesterday...
I'm excited to re-enter academia and know the native vocabulary is exceptional...
But if you're flummoxed by platitudes of academics as stodgy erudite pontificators go surfeit yourself on GRE vocab lists.
Though to grok that you likely have...

@lcsn_musings thanks for the follow! Let me know what you want to learn about in the intersection of #leadership #collaboration & #technology
@BillSeitz we need new research before it can be applied to real systems. That's what academia does best. Though I'm open to perspective on efficacy of academia on actualized implementation. What's the experience that drives your counterpoint?
Just got my #brandonsanderson signed Lost Metal in the mail! Sad I couldn't be at #Dragonsteelcon but maybe next year! Now to have the self control so I don't drop everything else to read...

@mcneely if it's "web based" does that mean it's hosted on cloud resources? It would be cloud engineering if you're in charge of managing what resources are used and how they are deployed for the web service. But if you are more about app deployment lifecycle you could just say you're web DevOps. Or if you're responsible for a specific backend or frontend service, that's probably your team. If you do it all, then you're some type of convoluted hybrid... Like a platypus

In life if you're "making bad grades" you have three change options: your output, your "classes", or the grading scale

Some will tell you what each of these should be, but reality is that you own them all

I've chosen a "grading scale" I believe in, what's yours?

If you're an #academic studying complex collaboration (multiteam, networked and non-hierarchical, interorganizational, group dynamics, etc.) I'd love to talk. Currently looking at doing the deep dive and joining #academia to study the psychology of it.
Anyone know of a podcast that talks about leadership of truly collaborative efforts (like #fedivers ). If I were to make such a podcast interviewing practitioners and #academics of collaborative leadership, who would listen? Who would you want to hear from?

On days when I get concerned for humanity because of the stupid stuff we do to each other.... I have to remind myself that history has committed much worse atrocities and we're still here... Right?

#optimism ?
