Folks, it doesn’t matter that Schumer voted “no”. He got the Dem caucus on board with caving. THEN the caucus figured out who should vote yes to provide cover for D Sens up for reelection in 2026, who might have been in serious danger of being primaried. As for the retiring D Senators, doing their colleagues this favor now serves their interest in post-retirement lobbying access and influence. 1/

If you can't play hardball, resign. Immediately.

Apparently the democrats who want to fold are Shaheen, Hassan, King and Fetterman.

So if you are from Maine, Pennsylvania or especially New Hampshire PLEASE CALL YOUR SENATORS.

(Georgia and Virginia senators are apparently also waffling so it doesn't hurt to call them too)
