The SSO Wall of Shame

A list of vendors that treat single sign-on as a luxury feature, not a core security requirement.

@umehlig Is that a large ant sitting on the phtoto of the larger fruits?

This is pretty incredible. In the bowels of the UT Insect Collection we’ve found some Chagas bugs collected and identified by Carlos Chagas himself!

During the City Nature Challenge last weekend we organised bike field trips here in the coastal Amazon region with our students. One of them photographed a native gymnosperm, a species of Gnetum. These are frequently not recognized as such — at first glance, they look like any angiosperm liana, especially in sterile conditions. However, the swollen nodes of the seed-bearing strobili give them away when examining more closely.

@ldodds I've always felt one of the best ways to get more solar deployed would be central government grants to all public sector orgs to put solar on their roofs.

Most are large enough that installation is economical, the public sector benefits from lower costs, you don't have to use loads of farmland or faff with planning.

You also don't need to wait for grid interconnects. Most of the time it just reduces load.

It would stimulate the solar installation industry, causing it to grow and become more efficient (there has to be a better way than expensive scaffolding), which would lead to consumers getting lower cost installations later.

5️⃣ Here's the 5th installment of my series of posts highlighting key new features of the upcoming v256 release of systemd.

I am pretty sure all of you are well aware of the venerable "sudo" tool that is a key component of most Linux distributions since a long time. At the surface it's a tool that allows an unprivileged user to acquire privileges temporarily, from within their existing login sessions, for just one command, or maybe for a subshell.

"sudo" is very very useful, as it…

In 2018, Austrian police, led by Commander Wolfgang #Preiszler, raided the headquarters of the country's domestic intelligence service, the BVT.

Officers seized confidential data and sensitive documents, causing a major scandal and leading to the agency's closure. It's now believe the raid was part of a Moscow-led operation to discredit and restructure #Austria’s spy services with #Kremlin influence, involving the far-right, pro-#Russia Freedom Party (FPÖ)

Putin hijacked Austria’s spy service. Now he’s going after its government

Intelligence officials suspect Wirecard COO Jan Marsalek of colluding with the far-right Freedom Party on Moscow’s behalf.
