We're the team behind LibreWeddingPlanner, a #FOSS web application to help individuals organize their wedding.

This project was born to fulfill the necessity of one of its developers, and ultimately we decided to make it free software under the #AGPL license. We're on the verge of releasing a public, free, and add-free instance for the community, so if you're interested, stay tuned!

Built with love with #ruby, #rails, #react and #nodejs.

Some weeks ago we redesigned our RSVP form to make it more appealing and mobile-friendly. Today, we've implemented a feature requests suggested by a user, to include a special requests textbox where organizers can collect additional information.

Being a new project, it's very exciting to see feature requests being suggested by the community. Please, keep the feedback coming.

We've refactored the UI of the expenses table to include the payments breakdown in a collapsible section of each row.

The previous version required the user to open a modal, where the list of payments was mixed together with the form to create a new payment.

Over the past weeks we've been rebuilding or website builder from scratch. We now support multiple pages, markdown content, and a better design.

You can find more details in our documentation for this feature:

A few weeks ago, some users started translating LibreWeddingPlanner into Dutch and German. And we're very grateful! Since we've been adding more feature, we're lagging a bit behind on translations.

Would you be willing to give us a hand?

We have just launched the invitations editor feature 🖌️ ! The customization options include background image, QR code (colors, size, position) and guest names (font size, color, alignment, weight, family).

When the design is ready, you can generate a PDF document with all the invitations, each one including the names of the guests assigned, and a QR code to the RSVP form for those guests.

We're using the holidays break to put some efforts into the optimization of the table distribution algorithm. Although results presented are good, it's too slow to be practical at scale.

We started by adding some metrics to the UI to reflect the number of positions evaluated and the time invested. We are also building a benchmark workflow in the CI to compare against new versions of the engine and make data-informed decisions.

In the distribution editor you can visualize the computer provided solution, drag and drop guests between tables, add tables, or pin guests to tables.

The button "Optimize from here" will send the solution back to the processing engine, which will use it as starting point for further optimization. Pinned guests will remain where they are.

Background colors don't have enough contrast with the text and will be fixed.

The table distributions feature is, without any doubt, where we have spent most of our development efforts.

It runs an algorithm to organize guests in tables of different sizes, maximizing the affinity between guests. It takes into account parameters like affinity between groups (from best friends to enemies and everything in between), the guests included in the same invitation, and the table sizes.

Yesterday we fixed a bug where the captcha was not properly displayed in the registration page. This issue was brought to our attention by some of the early users. Keep feedback coming!

The expense tracker in #LibreWeddingPlanner is the perfect place to keep track of all the expenses and payments involved in a wedding.

Additional configuration like pricing type and cost center are described with more detail in the feature documentation:
