Today while out & about in my adopted hometown of #Hilo, Hawaii, I stopped at Big Island Coffee Roasters wearing a t-shirt reading, "Your inability to understand biology is not a valid excuse for transphobia." As soon as he saw it, the barista (who may also have been a manager, though I'm not sure) said, "Love your shirt! Anything you want to drink is on me!" And he did indeed pay for my cold brew. Never forget that we do outnumber the cynical sociopaths temporarily in charge in the U.S. #LGBTQ

Nonbinary day musings. I am a trans woman but consider myself nonbinary in terms of gender expression. My partner describes themselves as nonbinary, with none of the nuance/qualifications I have just used. I said tonight that "nonbinary" did not seem to be an ideal term, defining an identity only as not-something-else. My partner says the term is perfect. For them, nonbinary is not an identity, it is the absence of a particular way of identifying. #nonbinary

Here we go again...

I'm River, and I've booped around a few places here on the fediverse, currently hanging out with my friends @tiefling and @VulpineDruid to chat about stuff and things.

I've been gaming since the heady days of OG #BaldursGate, and am currently obsessed with #BaldursGate3 and #DragonAge #TheVeilguard.

When I'm not gaming, I'm an academic #librarian, a practicing #witch and #Selunite, an occasional #writer and #poet and a general all-round nerdy type.

I'm also queer and trans, so I will post about #LGBTQ stuff, but I will content warn anything political.

Not only will this lead to more #LGBTQIA suicides, it will also eliminate hundreds of union jobs. Which is exactly the point as far as #Trump is concerned. The 988 suicide line will continue to exist, but it will no longer provide specialized services.
