I've listened to quite a few takes on the US election from liberal folks and while they are all sad about it, most of them seem to believe it's a nightmare that will be over in four years. Maybe it's my European pessimism, but I fear the republicans will use this opportunity and turn the US into a sham democracy like Hungary. I don't think closing your eyes and hoping for the best will work this time. I keep hearing "we survived four years with Trump already, how bad can it be?" more than once. Well this time he (and the republicans behind him) actually have a plan.

-- 3 of 9 justices owe their jobs to "quid pro quo" Trump, and they were never fully vetted for corrupt influences like prior justices
-- 2 other justices are married to open supporters of Trump's insurrection

I would say Biden should just take advantage of the same presidential immunity, but his court has made a joke of the idea of impartial justice. We all know they'll decide one way if it benefits Trump, then the opposite for Biden.
