Anyone familiar with #preact signals, is there a good pattern for handling DOM nodes, like useRef hook?

Got into an argument in that bird site with someone who keeps digging deeper on try to explain away the 5x death per capita between Australia and the US related to COVID is due to people having to use more AC in the US because everyone in Australia lives in temperate zones. This after they argued that social distancing was easier in Australia because of our low population density, where I pointed out that 86% of Australians live in urban areas versus only 83% of Americans.
