Normal people would never assume that just signing in to a new app with your Insta credentials would mean you can never remove yourself from that new app without also removing yourself from Insta. This is abusive and manipulative behavior from a company with a long track record of abuse and manipulation and I think they should be held accountable for it.

It's not that @signalapp doesn't work on the app. But I'd rather have a backup option, than… I don't even know. Stories? Cropping images inside of Signal? 🤷‍♂️

As a user of #Signal on #iOS I feel… ignored? There is an issue about being able to back up messages at https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-iOS/issues/5357 – or rather, there was an issue. Now it's closed and locked. What remains is a pointer to a feature request from 2017(!) at https://community.signalusers.org/t/ios-backup-keeping-message-history-when-switching-phones/1736 where almost 700 posts clearly show there is a high demand for that. More or less exactly 5 years have passed… _sigh_ @signalapp #feature #backup
