"Shortly after the last Presidential election, we were flooded by a bottomless array of media missives trying to decipher the thinking of the American electorate. Most of these furrowed-brow thinkpieces tried to insist the U.S. public simply had very deep thoughts on complicated economic, immigration, and fiscal policy.
Very few were willing to candidly admit the truth: the average American has little coherent sense of how absolutely anything works (54% of U.S. adults read at or below a fifth grade level), and subsists on a news and information diet of lazy infotainment, agitprop and corporatist sewage.
Few if any of these post-election think pieces meaningfully acknowledged that the U.S. has a very bad right wing propaganda problem. A problem that's been percolating for decades (most notably with the rise of Fox News), and indisputably responsible for the rise of Donald Trump and modern U.S. authoritarianism."

We still have four puppies from our large litter living at home. With each departure, it gets more difficult to see them go. Fortunately, Teal’s new best buddy, Wendell the Whippet fell for her immediately.

Looks like Palantir may have fallen into the Streisand trap;
in seeking their right to reply (under Swiss media law) via the courts, they have drawn a lot more attention to two articles (based on Freedom of Information requests) that reveal why the Swiss state refused to do a deal with Palantir for some military software; they were worried data would be obtained by the US Govt.
Now a story, originally limited to the Swiss is gaining traction across Europe; oops.
Amazon service (AWS) was taken down by AI coding bot named Kiro
https://futurism.com/artificial-intelligence/amazon-ai-aws-outages
In one incident in December, engineers at AWS allowed its in-house Kiro “agentic” coding tool to make changes that sparked a 13-hour disruption, according to four sources familiar with the matter. The AI, ill-fatedly, had decided to “delete and recreate the environment,” the sources said.
