Shoulder rest fell off four times while practicing…😔
@dan Can confirm. Bought a 2014 leaf in 2016 for $7,000. It does not get great charge anymore, and this model of Leaf is known for this, but it has been so cheap to own and is great for around town.

I've been seeing a lot of post from people noticing that used EVs are very cheap.

If you are in the market don't overthink it.

Step 1: Make sure you can charge at home or work. (This isn't everyone, and I can't really recommend an EV if you don't have home charging.)

Step 2: Find a cheap used EV you like and buy it.

Step 3: enjoy the car

As the saying goes, “No one got fired for buying Microsoft”. I hate writing in Word, and PowerPoint is terrible presentation software. Excel is at least good at going through data, but I think there are better options for this. I loathe Outlook.

Trapped in MS Office

Seeking IT independence, Europe wants to escape Microsoft Office. The question is: where to?

One of the most frustrating things about macOS 26 is how slow and laggy the Contacts app is. It always beachballs when I open it. WTF. This should be such a simple and fast app!

It’s a series of cascading things.

Because there is so little transit here, most parents have to plan their day around school drop off twice a day.

Because daycare services cost so much, people who can’t afford it privately have to make the choice to give up on one income.

Because of racism, red lining, and other legislative remnants of slavery, there are massive food deserts, and places you can’t get fresh food without driving an hour or so.

Now imagine doing all of that on two minimum wage jobs.

I moved temporarily to Monterey, a rich city, and without a car I found that I ate more convenience foods than any time in SF, where I live walking distance to 20-40 grocery stores including the ‘ethnic’ stores with the stuff I actually want to eat. And Monterey is rich! And has great produce! And I had (some) money! (Not as much as the residents of Monterey, but I had a good job!)

And of course I eat more convenience foods in SF than at any point in my life in Asia, because there is just so more of it and frankly I would lose my mind trying to replicate how I eat in Asia. The infra is not set up for it

Have had my MoonLander keyboard for a few weeks now. I can type text fairly well compared to my Keychron, but it is getting used to the thumb keys that is my biggest issue. Still want to reach to the top right for backspace and hit tab (right thumb middle button) by accident regularly.
@skinnylatte Sun situation is not helping my mental health in #pdx right now, but I love the calm. Went to New York once and was way to much for anything longer than a few days.
