I’m old enough to have worked in the #tech industry back in the day of mini-computers & supermicros powering 12 terminals. Old enough to remember when CP/M was a contender. The people involved were such cool nerds, so energetic & driven, so dedicated to this promising new #technology. I was in the room when Michael Dell, then 24 or so, visited AST Computer in 1987 (and ended up walking out with some or our middle level managers in his pocket). What a story he was. But now, he’s brown-nosing with all the rest. Tim Cook presenting Trump with a solid gold plaque, then joining him on his recent China trip. Zuck lining up to kiss ass. "Two months ago, headlines announced a Space Age milestone: #SpaceX now has more than 10,000 active #Starlink satellites circling Earth--two-thirds of all the working satellites in the sky. Analysts were gobsmacked by the pace of change.

Turns out, that's nothing. Back in January, SpaceX had already filed paperwork asking the FCC for permission to launch a million. The proposed #megaconstellation would become a solar-powered #AIDataDenter, requiring hourly rocket launches carrying a million tons of satellites per year."
