As a sneaky peak, I make reference to this design of roundabout which appears in the Design Manual for Roads & Bridges.
I would love to hear those involved in allowing this in the standard to defend their decision. This is hostile for walking, wheeling and cycling by design.

Well @johnparkin_28 for one, whose research shows design priority gives better cycle/ped priority over side roads than marked priority (see LTN 1/20 Fig 10.13).
#introduction. I am Professor of Transport Engineering at UWE. I worked for consulting engineers before joining academia. I have been involved in transport policy, modelling, operational analysis, economic appraisal, design and construction, and evaluation. My interest is infrastructure for everyday cycling. Pictures of tarmac and mountains are my staple imagery.
