Liz Irvin“Look out before you step out”. What’s wrong with this messaging? If we are serious about Vision Zero and eliminating fatal crashes, we need to focus on the source of the hazard. Drivers have to give way to people crossing side streets, so messaging and education should ensure they are aware of this road rule. People also need safe places to cross, and simply telling them to look out does not make a crossing safe. This campaign is a missed opportunity to make a difference to safety.
