Rosey seemed to get a bit too chilly for my liking on the hike yesterday so I carried her part of the way. Luckily she's not grown up be particularly big, though then she might not have been as cold!

Last trip to the church to pick up the remaining organ pipes and bits. The only pipes I didn't bother with were what turned out to be a purely decorative set from the front! So around 500 pipes. The few pipes I've blown through sounded lovely. Looking forward to hearing them sing again eventually (though probably not all 500 realistically).

I'll certainly be sending some wind through the huge ones just to experience them!

This kind of started back in March 2024 when I found some organ pipes in an antique shop. I fell in love with them and bought four.

Half way through the disassembly yesterday, having (between us) lifted out and carried hundreds of pipes, I admit I started to wonder what on earth I was doing.

It's like the cliche of a parent who catches their kid with a cigarette and makes them smoke the whole pack.

I don't want any more pipe organ pipes. I'm now good for pipe organ pipes.

So yesterday @louisa_ and I took apart the church organ with help from our mate Steven. Our garage is now full of pipes and organ parts and other weird stuff from the church, including a cool lectern.

We're going back soon with a bigger van for the largest pipes, which are up to 10ft tall!

Unfortunately I wasn't able to make the organ work for one last performance, but we did blow through a few individual pipes and they sounds quite lovely.

I bought a chef's knife from amazon (a returned one to save a few quid) and it's arrived completely destroyed. It's a Chinese cleaver so presumably someone thought that meant you could smash frozen cow bones with it or something. No.

But it shows that no human being looked at this return. They just accepted it and resold it back to me. What a complete waste of time and resources.

Amazon are the worst. I really should have known better. I wonder how many times it's been returned?

I finally managed to arrange access to look at my church organ! It's not big, but you know, it's big.

The controls are all manual! No electric solenoids involved!

Not in the best condition - no power available so no wind so couldn't play unfortunately.

While we were in there, someone was removing the pews. With a sledge hammer :(
