Cartoonist, writer, painter on training wheels. I don't DRINK decaf but I AM decaf. best known for the comic books "The Mundane Adventures of Dishman" and "Space Kid ". Currently working on a weekly strip "Not That Magic: Tales of Vernor Magus"
was doodling a bit today and stumbled across an #OC portrait that I especially like -- we'll see where this takes us. #cartooning #doodles #InkDrawing #CharacterDesign #OriginalCharacter #drawing #comics

Some more small-figure #pencil #doodles to follow up on yesterday's. Today I realized that, somewhere in the back of my head, I had some idea of how I wanted the protagonist of my #WIP to walk. So I spent a while trying to coax the idea into the front of my head. (I think the one in the rectangle is the winner.) #comics #cartooning #drawing #GraphicNovel #CharacterDesign
A lot of the work that goes into creating a #comic is not impressive or glamorous [at least, the way I do it, it's not]. Part of what I'm currently doing is designing characters for my #WIP . I've spent a lot of time working on their individual distinctive facial features. (As I tend to.) But recently, it finally sank in that a lot of my script involves long shots of full figures, drawn so small that facial features won't show. So I really needed to work on designing small figure drawings, aiming to make THOSE individual and distinctive. So now I've been working on that: haven't nailed everything yet, but it's going not-too-bad. #cartooning #comics #drawing #pencil #doodles #CharacterDesign #GraphicNovel

My 62nd #AcrylicPainting [12" x 16"] is a further exploration of a #LimitedPalette I discovered while working on some previous abstracts. I got quite excited working with those colours (and their respective values). I really like how they look and work together, so I have stocked up on those paints and hope to do a lot of different things with them in future. #art #painting #acrylics
