RiffTrax is doing a live show of Rad, and wanted to show off my
#vhs… then found out it’s a fairly desired tape and now I wonder about others in my collection that I’ve dismissed! 🤔
Going through old photos. Probably the most 80’s photo of me ever. EVER.
There’s a part of my brain that sees nothing but bugs. There’s another part that is excited to suck the juice from their chest cavity. Aw, New Orleans and crawfish season.
Saw The Lemon Twigs last night. I didn’t want to get as close as my wife, so I was a modest 10’ from them. If you like 60’s pop, glam rock and the general retro sound of the 60’s and 70’s, definitely catch these guys live! Only complaint was their tight one hour set.
Hit the thrift store yesterday. Rarely do we find vinyl that isn’t scratched to hell or Christmas music… but this gem was pristine and HAD to come home with us!
@rumdood Look what I found! These were badass cards. Pretty sure it was while I was taking tickets at the door for Marie King’s fundraiser at Don the Beachcomber. You’re all throwing down business cards to the doorman. LIKE. A. BOSS.
14 Calendar Collection continues! 1995 & 1972 acquired! ‘95 was sent by my college buddy who now works in the theatre shop of our college and mentor who had this calendar hanging when we were students! ‘72 I got from eBay and is the oldest in my 7 leap years. ‘95 is also the calendar for 2023, so going to be enjoying this one all year long!
My 1984 and 1971 calendars arrived! The 1971 is even more magical than the Tolkien. It appears to be from an appliance reseller advertising the latest in kitchen appliances.
I just bought this 1984 calendar. Thus the ✅ above. 1 down, 13 to go!
My new obsession: collecting a complete set of 14 calendars.
You can reuse calendars because there are only 14 unique layouts: 7 for starting the year on each day of the week Sun-Sat, and 7 of the same but as Leap years. If you have the complete set of 14, you have every calendar you’ll ever need. Trick is their cycles are a bit off from each other. Leap Years cycle every 28 years, but regular ones cycle in an 11-11-6 yr pattern. I’d love to get my hands on a 1984 for a rad Sunday Leap Year!
