I am a third generation Holocaust survivor. I've talked to many people who say they can't leave because they can't afford it, or their job is good, and it can't get worse.
I can't speak to how bad it can or will get. I can't predict the future, but I can tell you that the members of my family who could flee did flee. My grandmother fled occupied Paris.
My grandfather could not flee, and he was in five concentration camps, from age 14 to 19. He lost his entire family.
Being an immigrant doesn't mean being rich. Being a refugee doesn't mean being rich. Think of the millions of people who migrate for economic reasons. They do it to survive.
I urge you, please, stop waiting. Find your options. Apply for other citizenships, or if you can, please *just leave*. Immigrant life isn't easy, but if you wait longer, you may not have the option to leave.

If US spends so much more money on CAD goods, why aren’t Canadians getting that much richer? How much of that money is really going to CAD subsidiaries of US corps? How much of that $$ is simply funnelled back to USA biz and investors?
I think there’s a lot more to this story.
