Plastic is a major challenge, but the numbers within the triangle on the container show what kind of ease it breaks down.

PVC (3), LDPE (4), and Polystyrene (6) are hard to recycle due to harmful additives and their tendency to tangle machinery.

Easier plastics to recycle: PET (1), HDPE (2), and Polypropylene (5) are more commonly recycled, though they still need to be separated properly.

Did you know that the "fiercely independent pro-Europe" news site euronews.com is 97% owned by a VC firm run by a close friend of Hungary's Viktor Orbán?

That the the International Federation of Journalists called for a European parliamentary inquiry into the Euronews manipulation of the 2024 European Parliament election?

That aforementioned VC firm was fined for facilitating money laundering and financing of extremist organizations?

Be very wary of @euronews.

500,000 protesters against Vucic out of a population of 6.6 million!
That's like 25 million Americans marching against Trump.

@codinghorror Newspapers serve their owners:
- If they are founded by political parties, they serve a political purpose.
- If they are sponsored by oligarchs, they serve the interests of the oligarch.
- If they operate on a freemium model, they should serve the advertisers and remain silent on certain topics.
- If they are founded by readers, they can write whatever they want.
@codinghorror One note from Hungary: The current events in the US are really similar to what happened here in 2010. I guess they received the recipe from our PM.
In Hungary, they systematically bought radios, TVs, offline and online newspapers. An important lesson we've learned is the necessity of independent news organizations.
Since 2010, a number of sites have been founded by exoding journalists. I think you should keep an eye on similar opportunities in the US.
