What I was seeing on Reddit was that water got into a substation (it's been raining - but not that much rain), and that caused arcing which caused a fire.

CO2 levels are a pretty good way to measure how good ventilation is and if sufficient fresh air is being pulled in. Dering the pandemic there was some research that linked lack of fresh air to more COVID transmission. I think that's the link.

Never change, #Seattle.

This photo was found on my HD, I can't give any credit, sorry.

The #machinist who made them is highly skilled, even if they are totally useless!

Maybe there is no need to add these to my screws database.

Someone's taking pictures in San Francisco at an angle to make the streets look level. I feel simultaneously amused and triggered. (Seeing the cars level is what really fuels the illusion)

I think there are some cases with public assistance programs in the US where you see this dynamic too. I expect most of this is just not understanding how taxes work though.

Do you have something you like better? Tuta is the only other service I see people talking about that as higher security email. I really value third party clients which I understand isn't an option with Tuta.

I am also struggling because I would like to move over some other users who value usability (not sure how either Tuta or Proton would stand up).

Is the answer to just go Proton business?

As far as the fascism issue, I don't know that I read the situation as being as bad as some are making it out to be, but it was poorly handled and gives me pause.

Definitely interested in ideas oppinions if anyone has one.

Just, wow.

@mmasnick has an important piece about the Trump administration's threat to pull funding from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) unless they remove all references to LGBTQ+ issues and start "deadnaming" trans kids.

"After years of screaming ā€œsave the childrenā€ while baselessly accusing others of exploiting kids, the Trump administration is now trying to destroy the actual infrastructure that saves children. This one crosses from standard MAGA hypocrisy into genuinely evil territory.

I’m one of those people who doesn’t think you can (or should) call most people inherently ā€œbad,ā€ but if you support what the Trump administration is doing here, you are a bad person.

According to multiple reports, including former NCMEC board member Don McGowan and independent journalist Maria Kabas (who has been breaking story after story lately), the Justice Department informed the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that it will pull their entire funding if it doesn’t remove all references to LGBTQ+ issues and starts ā€œdeadnamingā€ trans kids. According to the Verge, NCMEC has already started complying and has removed at least three documents..."

This fits every single example of illegal stuff this administration has done so far: Accuse others of what you intend to do all along.

Are we doing burner phone discourse now? Fine. A Burner phone is a phone belonging to a Bay Area tech worker who won't shut up about Burning Man. You will never see them at a protest where they have even the slightest chance of being arrested.
@aburka
Yeah, wondering this too. Also crappy that you need to manage each app separately.
