@briankrebs @mmasnick This has been their approach my entire life. They actively enjoy hurting queer kids. They _say so_, and yes, I have receipts.

In the 90s, half the homeless kids showing up in Seattle’s U. District were LGBT kids thrown out by fundamentalist parents at the urging of “faith leaders” like Beverly LaHaye, who told her followers to make their queer children destitue and without recourse of any kind.

They fought anti-bullying efforts in schools because they would stop LGBT children from being hurt. Their euphemism for this was “religious freedom” and that religious freedom was to hurt children.

This is who they are. This is who they have always been.

@briankrebs @mmasnick so what stops this administration from continuing to dismantle this country piece by piece? They own the courts so you can’t do anything through them. They seem to at best ignore protests, and at worst will deploy police and possibly military to quell any public dissent so that’s not really going to have an impact.

I think a lot of people don’t want to discuss the likely violence that will be required to right these wrongs.

Dead honest this is such a horrifying development since this sets the stage to discredit the organization.

They’ve compromised their mission by agreeing, through their actions, that not all missing kids are equally worthy of being found.

That compromise is a wedge of rot they won’t be able to easily excise.
