Wow, I forgot just how terrible a lantern tool post is to use. Yikes. Let’s hope I can find a workable solution for an axa quick change sooner rather than later.

Any #machinist folks on here who can recommend hashtags for following and sharing?

Finally got a bit of solo time to add an outlet in my garage and replace the power cord on the machine.

A little fresh oil here and there and my Jet 1024P is running!

All the functionality seems to work, the belt is still pretty bad looking so I still need to figure that bit out.

But this is a big step closer to using it!

I’ve been casually shopping for machine tools for a long time now.

A deal that was too good finally popped up. I bought an estate sale lathe that was donated to an area non-profit that can’t use it and would rather have the cash.

I guess I’m a #machinist again. I’m excited to do all the basics again to get familiar with it.

It’s time to make a scribe, a pen, a machinist hammer. All the classics.
