The third holding an ear says, “No, this is a banana leaf.”

When we think measurements of reality tell us the absolute truth, we fool ourselves into believing we understand the truth of our reality when we really only have the smallest distorted fraction of a piece of the truth, and this reliance on counting reality is killing the human species."

We are counting ourselves to death

"There is a famous story which is used way too often to illustrate the point of human narcissistic ignorance (we are so sure in our ignorance) of several philosophers standing around an elephant blindfolded (turn your willing suspension of disbelief filter on), each holding a different part.

US views of how data centers affect the environment, energy costs, jobs and more | Pew Research Center

A broad majority of Americans have heard about data centers – the often-sprawling computing facilities that are popping up nationwide. But the public has mixed opinions about data centers’ impact…

Pew Research Center

How do YOU view data centers’ impact on environment & jobs

"Half of Democrats say data centers are mostly bad for the environment, compared with 31% of Republicans. Earlier Pew Research Center surveys have shown that Democrats tend to be more concerned than Republicans about the environment in general.

Democrats are also more likely than Republicans to say data centers are mostly bad for home energy costs (44% vs. 33%) and people’s quality of life nearby (37% vs. 24%).

It was a fine start. But after he lavished praise on Hansen, perhaps to help smooth over strained Canadian-US relations, the astronauts seemed to have nothing to say in response."

Trump Has Call With Moon Astronauts So Awkward That They May Turn Around and Disappear Into the Void of Space

President Trump's call to NASA's Artemis II astronauts to celebrate their historic trip behind the Moon took an awkward detour.

Futurism

When they reemerged, the crew — NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen — reestablished contact to celebrate.

Those festivities took an awkward turn, though, when president Trump hopped on the call.

“You’ve made history and made all America really proud,” Trump began.
