NASA has selected 3 teams to develop the Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) - Intuitive Machines, Lunar Outpost and Venturi Astrolab.

The 12-month feasibility task-order will be followed by down-selection to one vendor.

Rover-as-a-Service - vendor is responsible for DevOps and transportation to the moon’s south polar region.

Key req'ments – carry 2 suited astronauts, remote controlled uncrewed operation, robotic arm, operate in extreme temps at the lunar South Pole.

I think a lot of work that is made to sound urgent and timely is not actually urgent.

So I usually tell people not to feel rushed when we’re working together (unless there really is a rush).

Go outside, touch grass, we are all better off for it.

As Twitter self-immolates, I am seeing people I know setting up on Bluesky.

I find this perplexing. Can people really not learn the lesson that a social network owned by a capitalist is a social network they don't control?

You can argue about whether Bluesky or Mastodon has the better technology, but what's 100% clear is that Mastodon is run BY users FOR users. And that difference is the only one that matters in the end.

My partner - who is a teacher - went back to work after the summer holiday.

Their management team told them at a staff meeting that they were providing free school meals for TEACHERS suffering hardship. And a hardship fund for TEACHERS who don't earn enough money to survive.

My partner thought it was a decent thing to do. It just made me angry.

There is something beyond wrong when professional workers like teachers are unable to survive on their salaries. The answer isn't papering over the cracks and pretending this is a normal state of affairs. It's happening to so many workers, not just teachers.

Something's got to give. It will.
