Congratulations to Geoff Hinton for receiving the Nobel Prize in Physics!
Hinton has been awarded the 2024 Nobel in Physics with John J. Hopfield for foundational discoveries and inventions that enable machine learning with artificial neural networks.
Hinton received the 2018 ACM A.M. Turing Award with Yoshua Bengio and Yann LeCun for conceptual and engineering breakthroughs that have made deep neural networks a critical component of computing.

Just going to ask bluntly:
Does anyone have a project where I can be of service?
I can help you out with creative datavisualization design, can bring datavisualization knowledge into your company through advise and healthy criticism, guide you on your way on designing your own insightful graphs and other visualizations.

Just give me a shoutout and spread the word, I appreciate your recommendations :-))

My research group is looking for a motivated PhD student on the topic of Visual Analytics for Network Comparison: to help people gain deep insight in complex data by developing methods for interactive exploration of multi-layer networks. If you are interested (or know anyone who might be interested) in this position, make sure to have a look at the open position at https://www.kuleuven.be/personeel/jobsite/jobs/60260018

It seems likely that some recent, very high-profile (published in @Nature) findings of bacteria and viruses supposedly associated with cancer are errors. "Many of the [microbial species identified] seem nonsensical." Harsh, but true https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2023.01.16.523562v1

I have to say, CatGPT is scarily accurate. Machine learning has come a long way.

Evolution of Smart Products cartoon - Marketoonist | Tom Fishburne

One of the most popular cartoons I ever drew was about the Internet of Things, right after Google announced the acquisition of Nest in early 2014. “I think my Nest smoke alarm is going off,” one character tells another. “Google Adwords just pitched me a fire extinguisher and an offer for temporary housing.”

Marketoonist | Tom Fishburne - Marketoonist is the thought bubble of Tom Fishburne. Marketing cartoons, content marketing with a sense of humor, keynote speaking.
Made a few prints on paper of my generative flowers.
