But I'm also not sure abt the idea. What if (soon) we make our own LLMs. We want them to "read" everything we care about.
The problem isn't that LLMs scrape your data, it's that the LLM companies are bad. They should be regulated: Maybe pay more taxes, be banned from overusing electricity, be forced to make their code freely available, banned from making monopolistic partnerships, etc.
We WANT to feed text movies etc into our systems.
So #Putin offers us โpeaceโ if we surrender four regions completely, including Kherson and Zaporizhe.
This is insane, since he wants #Ukraine to submit even two large cities #Russia doesnโt control.
We also have to promise not to join #NATO
This is not a peace offer, this is basically a demand for unconditional surrender. But my point is different.
Watch everybody in the coming days who say Russia wants peace. They are either idiots or russian assets.
Pls boost.
So now we have to use two-factor authentication at the university #Microsoft 365. All good, but even though you can use #FOSS apps (even Microsoft indicates in small letters), the university instructs you to download yet another Microsoft product on your cell phone (Microsoft #MFA).
Another subtle way institutions miss an opportunity to challenge #platformization.
@cferdinandi I remember you complained about Firefox and their focus on AI. Saw this and thought of you :) https://techcrunch.com/2024/01/23/google-chrome-gains-ai-features-including-a-writing-helper-theme-creator-and-tab-organizer/
Don't you think Google is more likely than Moz to use AI to push some kind of agenda on us? Regardless of how "good"the features are (and same with G-services), I seriously distrust them. And I foresee that at any moment the shit will really hit the fan!
OTOH, I trust Moz around 80%. Which is very high!
Dear fedifriends, we've been using the #foss product #Redmine at @codeenigma for over a decade and it's been great. However, most of the important plugins we rely upon are now abandoned and we certainly can't pick up the slack on so much technical debt. So, with heavy heart...
Can anyone recommend a good, OPEN SOURCE, ticketing tool that might make a decent replacement? Thanks in advance, boosts would be very helpful too. ๐
Grateful for some clarification regarding Firefox's future from two current/former employees there. Rumors of its demise have been greatly exaggerated, the stuff about the CEO's salary was also apparently exaggerated (source of which was the disgruntled former CTO who was evidently most responsible for poor decisions regarding FF), and that we should have no qualms about continuing to use #Firefox and need not fret about the browser being shelved anytime soon.
Stay calm and Firefox on!
