So now we have to use two-factor authentication at the university #Microsoft 365. All good, but even though you can use #FOSS apps (even Microsoft indicates in small letters), the university instructs you to download yet another Microsoft product on your cell phone (Microsoft #MFA).

Another subtle way institutions miss an opportunity to challenge #platformization.

@tamiel it irritates me that Microsoft 365 is now using Outlook Mobile as the primary 2 factor option. I've been using a 3rd party 2FA app for years but now I have to click through another screen to use that option.

And the popup in the Outlook Mobile app that opts into this system has no way to dismiss it other than to opt in.
