General geek, gadgeteer, tea drinker, occasional photographer, wannabe musician, and liker of Oxford commas. Recovering sysadmin. Lefty woke liberal. 🏳️‍🌈

I tend to post about anything, often techy things, but of late occasional UK political things too.

I mostly write code in #Go (#golang) but lately I've been learning #Swift and #SwiftUI. I will touch #Python under duress. #Perl was my first real language and made me love writing code.

Man, switching between my Stingray bass and the Spector Euro LX is always a headfuck for a bit. The Spector has a longer neck so my hand is always about two frets off for a while.

I love the Spector but I can't play it all the time, it's just not as comfortable as the Stingray.

@headfirstonly Belated happy birthday!

The Online Safety Act is a minefield for the next generation of voters

Caught between a lowered voting age, the ban of Palestine Action and the Online Safety Act, the political landscape has changed radically for 16-year-olds…

@kinnison Honestly with what Nginx has implemented most people are probably better off sticking with certbot or whatever.

I'll stick with Caddy and Traefik.

So Nginx have finally woken up and realised that basically every other web server supports ACME these days, and put out their own ACME implementation. Except it only supports http-01, no dns-01 or tls-alpn-01. And it's annoying to set up.

I'll be sticking with... literally anything else, thanks.

@Tenzer Did you get the handle/domain backwards there?
@filippo The changes to GOMAXPROCS will be such a huge quality of life improvement. Going to see if I can get this in prod today 😄
