I recently got a copy of Graham Mitchell's book of #motörhead photos "Fast and Loose" and it brought home to me just how fond Lemmy was of the "Rock Invaders" t-shirt that I drew for the fan club...

"Late‑diagnosed adults describe finally learning they are autistic as both relief and grief: relief at having a name and community that fit, and grief for all the years spent fighting the unnecessary battles."

Yes!!! But not so much "grief" as RESENTMENT, for how unnecessary it all was and is. 😡

Epistemic Injustice: The Great Gaslighting of Autistic Lives

Epistemic injustice is the assumption that people, usually those with less power, are unable to correctly understand their own lives. It takes a tragic toll on autistic lives.

Psychology Today
I have spent the whole day recording several 15-piece choirs for a children's theatre group. So much enthusiasm, it was lovely.

I had a psych assessment this week.

The minimum PCL5 score indicating that someone has difficulties dealing with past traumatic events which "would benefit from psychological support" is 33 (out of a maximum of 80). I scored 59.

My PHQ9 score was 20 and my GAD7 score was 19, "indicating severe symptoms of depression and anxiety." The PHQ9 score is enough to trigger a recommendation of immediate treatment.

There I was, thinking I was "just a bit down"...

Sam Altman: “We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter.”

Meaning: We stole all your knowledge , writing, and art, and now we’re gonna put a meter on it and sell it back to you. You’re welcome.”

Amazing. #monsterdon
And a message from Pat's wife Deborah:
"I think it’s important to mention the airlines involved in all posts about this! United Airlines (Pat is a platinum member) and South American partners Sky Airlines!"

So perhaps autistic people aren’t empathy-impaired at all.

Just misaligned with a social order that expects empathy to be smooth, selective, strategic, performative, and status-aware.

And maybe that's really what gets pathologized.

Took part in my first autism support session today on Zoom. Nearly chickened out beforehand, but I'm glad I didn't. Learned some useful stuff.

Stick Men (Markus Reuter, Tony Levin, and Pat Mastelotto) have just had the majority of their gear and personal luggage stolen while travelling by air in Chile.

Markus suggests buying their music if you want to help them out, but if you hear about their gear being traded - and it's pretty bloody distinctive gear - let them know.
