Folks on Fox are panicking over a Black disabled Santa.

I can understand why. As anyone who grew up in the internment camps knows, Santa isn’t Black. That MF is Japanese.

Status quo/normality bias is *incredibly* powerful.

Consider that study where a group of people sit in a room waiting for the experiment to begin, but actually the experiment is seeing how long the one not in on it will ignore smoke coming under the door because everybody else
is.

Twitter platforming nazis is the smoke coming under the door. Elon Musk openly agreeing with nazis is like one of the participants sloshing petrol around and cackling insanely.

Yeah…right

The year I was born, there were 57,628 cases of polio in the United States. My childhood best friend was a polio victim who wore metal braces on his legs.

We lined up in the school gym to get polio vaccines -- first the Salk killed-virus version, then the Sabin weakened-virus dose.

Widespread vaccination works. The disease is now regarded as "eliminated" in the United States and indeed most of the world.

But it is not gone. It waits for us to be stupid.
