The Carter Center
@GottaLaff A beautiful Couple that many Americans did not deserve. They are a beacon of what a true Christian encompasses.
@otownKim @GottaLaff I’ve always had such respect & admiration for them.
I will write them a letter before it’s too late.
Glad he was POTUS when I was very young and learning about govt & sociology.
@GottaLaff Jimmy was the first President for whom I voted. Rosalynn brought grace to the White House. They both have been a breath of hope throughout their lives.
@GottaLaff it's a small and wonderful reward that they are able to share the final chapter together. A chapter of one of the finest and kindest stories this country has ever produced.
@GottaLaff
They will be together always.
As an old hospice nurse, I've seen couples married for a long time, pass within a very short time of each other. We are lucky to have had them for so long. 💔

@MichelleRNCHPN You have the job I admire most in the world. My dad, my mom, my FIL all had hospice care that was outstanding.

I adore you.

@GottaLaff
Aww. Right back at you.
Honestly, it was a difficult, but wonderful time in my career. My patient's and their families gave me as much as I gave them. Caring for someone at end of life is a sacred honor that is difficult to explain.
@MichelleRNCHPN I do understand that. I couldn't do it. I get too traumatized. I admire the hell out of you.
@GottaLaff
We all have our strengths and talents. It takes a village. ;)
@GottaLaff I hope one doesn't survive long without the other. They have been together such a long time, and should be together forever ❤️💔
@anathema_device Me too. I've been through this with 2 sets of parents (in laws, my own)
@GottaLaff ❤️ It is so lovely that they are finishing their journeys together. They deserve all of the peace and the love.
@SueShannon Absolutely. Sigh. So sad.
@GottaLaff there is zero chance they will not pass within days of each other. I am having trouble reconciling the current vision of what Christians are with who they are. Tough to explain to my kids that some Christian people actually took Christ’s words to heart.
@GottaLaff if only he had been granted a second term. How much better the world would have been. They were "essentially good" people.
