. “Work hard, play hard” = “There is a lot of alcohol-based self-medication happening”
. “Fun office culture” = “There’s a ping-pong table which the people who do no work but somehow earn more than you use”
. “Startup culture” = “No job security. Also not a startup”
. “One big family” = “The founder’s spouse is Head of HR”
IT jobs lingo decoded:
• “We’re like a family” = no boundaries & call at midnight
• “Fast-paced” = chaos everywhere
• “Self-starter” = zero support for anything
• “Team player” = unpaid overtime & get ready to work on all holidays including weekends
• “Competitive salary” = below industry average
• “Nimble” = drop everything & work on my problem
• “Flexible work hours” = starting time is fixed but don’t think of leaving early

How do people moving out for the first time learn how to clean and maintain a house in #Australia these days? Parents can't/don't teach you everything. I think I'm looking for a wikiHow except specifically house stuff, and maybe with an Australian context - I want a single volume in whatever format that explains stuff like (for example) how to clean windows, doing laundry in a cold climate, patching small holes in walls, that sort of stuff.
