I managed to get a functional ceramic MOS 6502 for a fraction of what they normally go for; it was cheaper due to the faded silkscreen and solder pin reinforcement/repair on two pins. It also had some flux residue that made it less attractive (easily cleaned). #6502
#retrocomputing #apple1This is apparently an AMI produced 6820, though the silkscreen is worn and illegible.
I couldn't get a ceramic 6502 (well I could, but not willing to spend thousands on one) but did get a nice ceramic 6820 PIA for under $20.
#mimeo #apple1 #retrocomputing #vintagecomputerI finally started working on a "Mimeo" Apple 1 replica board I bought from Mike Willegal over a decade ago ( May 2013) along with a PROM set, cassette interface and Datanetics PCB. I'm still waiting on a few parts to arrive.
#retrocomputing #apple1 #mimeo1Recently built "Snark Barker" Sound Blaster clone board. It worked first try which was a relief as some chips were bought from eBay (NE558, TEA2025B, YM3812, YM3014B, SAA1099). Finished it off with a 3D printed steel bracket from
#JLCPCB .
#retrocomputing #soundblaster #snarkbarkerGot one of the new MacEffects front panels for my Lisa. This is what Apple should have done back in the day.
#applelisa #retrocomputingI've updated a Sound Blaster 16 CT2740 from DSP v4.12 to v4.17 which corrects the hanging note bug when using the MPU401 interface or Wave Blaster header. It's pretty easy to do; unsolder the DSP, install a socket, program an 89S52 from Mouser or Digikey and pop it in.
Also installed an Interware Booster clone (50-SE30F by zigzagjoe) in my SE/30. Provides a 50MHz CPU and FPU; just remove the existing CPU and plug it in, no drivers needed.
#applese30Installed a couple of upgrades today. First up, an Atari MegaST power supply from
http://C64PSU.com. This is a drop in replacement multi-voltage supply which replaced a 240v/50Hz supply in my European MegaST4.
