Also here's a cat

User VS UX
My boy.
You SPN me bloodhound, baby, bloodhound
Like a AS-REQ, baby, sharp hound, hound, hound
we should bring this energy back to UI design
Cats are a scam invented by BIG FUR to sell more lint rollers.

As a Meta employee, I can honestly tell you what we know, and I do not know how we obtain all of it.

* Your full name
* Your full home address
* Your phone number
* Your e-mail
* Your government ID
* Your consumer report history
* The name of every family member
* The name of every friend
* The name of their family / friends
* Your marital status
* If you are faithful to your partner
* Your work history (all of it)
* Your education history (all of it)
* Your travel history (going back years)
* Your birth gender
* Your gender ID
* Your sexuality
* Your sexual preferences
* How often you're having sex
* Your partner's details (all the above)
* Your political ideology
* Your involvement with any group
* If you protest, we know
* If you're unhappy, we know

The amount of information we collect on you is insane. And we do it all for supposedly marketing and yes, we help the government since they have access to all this too.

So when someone says they want to avoid META or GOOGLE - respect.

TFW your CTI lists the MD5, SHA1, and SHA256 of a sample and they're all the same string.
@cR0w math do be a fuck, but not that fucky
@NosirrahSec I checked it like 10 times to make sure it wasn't that the filename was named as the hash or something since that threw me off before but nope. That would be one hell of a hash collision that I assume would require some quantum bullshit.
@cR0w I think it's straight up mathematically impossible, but I can't be 100% sure on that.
@NosirrahSec It is impossible just based on the different length of the hash strings for the different algorithms.

@cR0w I had this whole thing typed out about the size of the output, how infinite sets can be "less infinite" than others, and how even if there are infinite combinations and outputs; they're still incomplete and there's no collision possible outside of their "set."

I deleted all that nerd shit and said what I said lol but you already knew why.

@NosirrahSec Ha! I do that a lot on here too.
@cR0w I watched some thing on audhd/adhd and it has me stopping myself more often like I've been called out lol
@NosirrahSec Like those memes where someone types out a really long response then deletes it all and just sends 👍?
@NosirrahSec @cR0w Fuck that shit. Over-explain to your heart's content.
@Mustardfacial @cR0w I usually do, but then I see a caricature of myself play out in my head of someone going TO TOWN talking about trains to a normie and all of my cringe happens at once lol

@NosirrahSec @cR0w I know that feeling all to well, but I get through it by reminding myself not to beg for a seat when I can build my own table.

(also you wanna go to town about trains? Hit me up.)

@Mustardfacial @cR0w it's one of few things I'm self conscious of. I don't even know why.

I think it's because my awareness of it is still so new compared to the "rest of me?"

I'm almost clinically unable to be embarrassed by much, but once I learned of how it can come off when I'm excited, JFC the embarrassment overload thinking back to my whole life nerding out on so many things.

@Mustardfacial @cR0w thinking of all the times I went on and on about some new development in math or physics to my ex.

CRIIIIINGE OVERWHELMING

@NosirrahSec @Mustardfacial @cR0w Yeah, but for every person whose eyes glaze over, there's someone whose eyes light up. Mostly, it's the other folks who geek out over the same thing -- like me.
@NosirrahSec @cR0w One of the shittier parts about having empathy for others is that you tend to minimize parts of yourself because you can sense another person's discomfort. It's not inherently a bad thing, empathy is important. But if the cringe you feel stops you from being yourself then you might have to ask yourself if it's an over-reaction on your part or theirs.

@Mustardfacial @NosirrahSec @cR0w

> reminding myself not to beg for a seat when I can build my own table.

This is one of the coolest things I've read in a long time!

I wouldn't have described it that way (before) but it's why I put that I'm autistic in the very first sentence of my resume. I was staking out space for myself. Ableists will be repulsed and not give me an interview? Oh, heavens, no!

212 following, 42 followers · Someone pointed out the other day that there are more real numbers between 0 and 1 than there are natural numbers from 1 to infinity, basically by saying if 0.1 = 1, and 0.01 = 2, you can pick a real number between 0 and 1 whose Nth decimal place is 1, for any natural number N. And since 0.2 is *not* in that series, real numbers between 0 and 1 have *at least one* more number than all the natural numbers. But I was just thinking that it gets even stranger than that. @cy @cR0w yes! This exact thing!

Set theory is crazy shit.

@cR0w @NosirrahSec
I wonder if there is any input x such that md5(x) == sha1(x)[0:16] == sha256(x)[0:16]...
@njvack @NosirrahSec Sounds like a better use of GPUs than all the AI nonsense.

@njvack @cR0w my math brain just started going brrrrrrrrrrrrr

I'm really curious now. This must have been done to death by CS nerds.

@NosirrahSec @cR0w Maybe? I am not sure there is any practical application of the answer…
@njvack @cR0w that's the cool shit about figuring out mathematics; sometimes the "no practical application" solution to a problem becomes wildly useful in ways like a tool to break further into other problems that DO have a practical application.
@cR0w double checks latest report to make sure it wasn't me
@reverseics 😆 I think it's a platform issue rather than a report issue.
@cR0w double checking intensifies
@cR0w ... and it matches none of the lengths?
@nyanbinary Fortunately one was proper which is why it came up in the search.
@cR0w I'm just screaming because it's Monday again but also, that's some real bullshit right thar
@kwayk42 I think it's a web portal issue but yeah. Whoopsie.
@cR0w takes a lot of skill to reverse that many hashes and also make them magically the same length
@aleteoryx stares angrily at SHA3
@cR0w I've seen this in digital-library collections; it's usually a marker of insufficient automation (no one should EVER have to copy-and-paste a file hash, argh).
@dsalo Yeah, I'm pretty sure the application is just returning the SHA256 for all three hashes and it would be an easy fix.
