Quietly observing

how many people

framed their disagreement with my ASKING if I would have to CW most of my life & activism & daily life

as defense of CW
or defense of #Mastodon culture
or didn’t even read or listen to anything I said

hence proving my point.

Which I made behind a CW out of respect for the community here
by the way.

You cannot truthfully claim you’re not attacking/harassing people just because you dress it up as defense of others.

It's always nice visiting a forest during the fall, weaving through the trees, crunching the sunset-colored leaves. Pine needles metamorphose into ectoplasmic worms. The moss man collects bones. Will-o'-the-wisps pass through your skull, implanting memories that aren't yours.

You know what’s great about #mastodon?

I’m greeted w a timeline of friendly folks excited to share cool things: ‘Here’s #music I composed!’ ‘Check out my #art!’ ‘I took this photo of the stars bc #space is magical!’

Even on topics I’m unfamiliar with, the enthusiasm makes me curious to learn more.

I love that this network isn’t set up to encourage snark & reward cruelty. It’s not a race for 🔁 & ❤️ bc they’re not as obvious as on #twitter

It has a real community feel. 2022 needs more of that.

#Samhain #tarot draws for my wife and I were reassuring as we look to move forward with our lives in the next year. I drew the first three without much thought to a specific question, but to represent “us”. The eight of wands and two kings. A single card for myself was the Wheel of Fortune. In the context of job applications and trying to finish up school, I’m cautiously optimistic.
