With generative AI it's pretty clear to see that automation is at a point resembling the Hellenistic era. Where the steam engine was possible, but no-one thought to create it because slave labor was cheaper.

There are huge initiatives to replace people who write, draw, design etc. But there a lot of jobs where people are breaking their bodies, that there's just no urgency to automate. Because that labor has been made cheap.

Automate the boring stuff instead!

I just saw a "food hack" that I think made me lose brain cells from contact damage.

Steak and eggs, where you cut out a hole in the steak to make room for the egg so you can cook everything in one pan.
Or just get a larger pan and cook them side by side!

What idiot thinks it's smarter to throw away an egg sized piece of steak than buying a larger pan!?

What if the world building included magic, but either you learn spells or how to channel your inner magic through artifacts (like swords)?
Would that make 4ed "everything is a spell" make more sense? Leveling up and suddenly knowing new things? Instead of finding more magical tools, the ones you have become more magical as you charge them...?

Last Christmas, I gave you a tin
and the very next day,
you gave it away.
How did I know,
'cause it's at the Goodwill.
You didn't even remove
the wrapping.

What would happen if there was a platform that pushed for no updates, no patches, no fixes after release.
Maybe a v1.1 but it would have to be a distinct release from 1.0 and the original still available.

Would people have a nostalgic feeling of "this is like back when games came on cartridges, or actually where on the disc" or would they complain about not being able to influence the design of a product after they already bought it?

Three weeks behind and doing some catch-up watching, but Collision from July 8th had one of my favourite things. A move that never works actually working!
The "lay down and the other person steps over you" always looks like some stupid timing exercise that they forgot is supposed to be left in the gym - until someone actually makes someone else trip with it!
I think we need more of that, more of jobbers actually having problems escaping the holds that are trivial in normal matches etc.
