If you're #Lisp-curious, this new quick-start IDE could be a fun playground: https://coalton-lang.github.io/20260424-mine/ (From the author of Coalton, a haskell-like language that embeds in Common Lisp.)
Introducing mine, a Coalton and Common Lisp IDE

By Robert Smith mine is a brand new IDE for Coalton and Common Lisp, built from the ground up with one purpose: To make Coalton and Common Lisp easier and more accessible to the programming world. TL;DR? Go to mine's homepage with downloads for Windows/macOS/Linux. mine is a complete, single-download application that comes with everything needed to experience the interactive and incremental development programming workflow, including hot-reloading and on-the-fly debugging, that Lisp programmers often refer to as the differentiating feature of the ecosystem. After installing, one can immediately open a file, program some Coalton or Lisp, and beam code to the REPL. On the same token, it has many of the advanced features you’d expect in a professional IDE:

Bricked hardware, ads, and control. The Amazon Kindle is no longer built for readers. Here’s why I’m done with it.

If you have a bug zapper up, it's time to take it down.

A University of Delaware study analyzed nearly 14,000 insects killed by zappers over one summer. Mosquitoes accounted for less than 1%. The other 99%? Moths, beetles, midges, fireflies, and other beneficial insects.

It's even worse than it sounds: mosquitoes find you by carbon dioxide, body heat, and skin chemistry. Your zapper is completely invisible to them.

Meanwhile it's running all night massacring the pollination night shift.

Serious offer: i know how to make electric bicycles, electrify analog bicycles and repair broken electric bikes/scooters. If you are in #Brisbane, feeling fuel pinch, and want to get (back/newly) on two wheels, hit me up. Parts to electrify a bicycle cost a few hundred dollars, no need to spend $4000 on a store bike if you don’t want to. I even have some analog bikes we could use for parts. If you have access to ex rental scooters from defunct rental companies, i can also help resurrect these.

Will hold a weekend #ebike #escooter #micromobility workshop if there is interest.

ETA: if not in brissy i can recommend parts to buy

ETFA: if you have a good bike but a dead battery, this can be resurrected for around $100

ETEFA: your replies tell me I'd better pump out a blog post on this subject pronto.

Morgen ist übrigens der Grunewald100. Das ist wie #bm100 nur ein bisschen leichter, weil halt in Berlin. Falls wer spontan starten will, es gibt noch exakt einen Startplatz. Schreibt Markus auf Insta an. #nevernotrunning #ultrarunning #teamlaufen

Do you have 5.25" and 8" floppy disks that are spare, low-quality, degrading, or just generally in bad shape?

I'd like to take my floppy disk data recovery game to the next level. I have equipment, but there's no substitute for experience. Therefore I'm looking for loose collections of old floppy disks to practice on. I'm especially interested in working with disks where the binder affixing the media to the donut is starting to fail.

I'm in London; will pay shipping; can pick up disks around here as well. Boosts are appreciated!
