This week's parsha is a commentary about disproportionate response.
It's not exactly parallel to now; the duplicity isn't there. And it's not like I have any better ideas to offer the IDF.
But I still think the parsha is a message that there are limits to "any means necessary".
(Again, not that I have any better ideas. But I just can't make myself comfortable with what's happening now as a reasonable consequence and I found resonance in the reading.)
