Just a warning, I am immediately blocking, and sometimes server blocking on, "stop posting about politics if you're a insert profession here" takes. Technology is politics. Education is politics. Security is politics. The people who work in these fields, and more, are intimately impacted by politics. Some peoples' lives, families, and livelihoods are in danger. It's all politics, stop content and tone policing if you're one of the few people who's currently insanely fortunate to be relatively unimpacted. It's asinine.

@CraftComputing When I trained stable diffusion for a style on a custom imageset (like 10 or so images) I think it used ~30 GB of VRAM. Theres probably even more applications with the amount you got there, I am interested in what you are going to use it for cause I cant think of any other applications (Its just my ignorance lol)

It seems like, for the last 30 years of my life, we didn’t really need to spend much time struggling with what to do with the long-term future of humanity. The idea in my head has always been “what folks around me currently have, but for more people, and using less stuff.”

If fusion is ever going to be a thing, if energy production keeps getting cheaper, if AI is contributing significantly to the knowledge economy…that’s just not gonna be enough of a vision anymore.
