De-linked my tweets, seems with the collapse of Project Mushroom that this space isn't going to work out as intended? And feel bad spamming your TLs when I'm not on here to reply to stuff as much

Pre-ordering Witness: An Insider's Narrative on the Carceral State by Lyle C. May, an incarcerated journalist who is unable to be on social media to promote it because of state law––just another way incarcerated people are cut off from the outside world. https://bookshop.org/p/books/witness-an-insider-s-narrative-of-the-carceral-state/19685391?ean=9781642599718
People continue to be killed by cops, and by the vastly unequal conditions created and sustained by cops.
They’re saying the suspect is a 24 year old. My heart breaks especially for everyone hurt, and also for this young person. Why did it happen? What could have prevented it? Certainly not more policing and surveillance. We need so much more.
Nothing profound but days like this are bleak. Getting texts from your mom to make sure you haven’t been literally shot dead, and knowing that there will be another shooting in another city tomorrow, all because of the policy choices that powerful people make every day…
There was a shooting in Atlanta today, with at least one person killed and three injured. In the most surveilled city in the country, where we give 1/3 of our budget to police, thanks to city leadership. Where guns are everywhere, thanks to state leadership.
nothing wrong with a little propaganda tho
not all are so enthusiastic alas
reviews of the piece are beginning to come in
