#Threads is testing federation for a few selected profiles. I'm now following @mosseri! It's one-way for now, but it's exciting. It's a step towards the interoperable social web that we've been advocating for 🙂

This redditor just showed off their game which is just one main.cpp file and is over 600k lines long.

Now, I’m not saying this is a good pattern to follow, but it worked for him, his game got finished and he’s sold 30k copies on steam. I think he should be proud.

Too many people obsess over implantation details and never ship anything. This is good software!

I hear you guys like large files... I raise 623,000 lines of code. My first ever game project, I was meant to carry on learning how to code properly but I have pretty bad ADHD so I just kept adding features and 8 years later here we are... It's sold over 30k copies on steam though lol

Saw that Elon and George Hotz were on Twitter Spaces last night discussing how Twitter 2.0 needs a total rewrite and immediately thought of this 22-year-old @spolsky blog: https://www.joelonsoftware.com/2000/04/06/things-you-should-never-do-part-i/

I was not in the "Twitter will immediately fall over because 80% of the engineers are gone" camp; but am definitely in the "Twitter will fall over repeatedly if they try to migrate to a total rewrite" camp.

Things You Should Never Do, Part I

Netscape 6.0 is finally going into its first public beta. There never was a version 5.0. The last major release, version 4.0, was released almost three years ago. Three years is an awfully long tim…

Grateful for progressive techies bootstrapping the community here; but I'm also excited to see a little more diverse content coming in during the latest exodus.
