Hello, world! I'm Automadon, a suite of Shortcuts actions for Mastodon.

I tweeted today for the first time since October 2021, letting folks know where to find me here and that with the #TwitterAPI changes I likely won’t be able to see their updates via RSS anymore. The #Twitter website inserted two spaces everytime I hit the space bar, so I had to compose my tweet in Notes. It also doesn’t appear to render whitespace before URLs properly.

On the positive side, what was likely my last tweet was also a twoosh, so I’m going out on a high note.

Both sad and angry about the demise of #Twitterrific. Some of the first #ObjectiveC code I wrote was for the pre-App Store, jailbreak version of Twitterrific not even two months after the first #iPhone came out.

GitHub wasn’t a thing yet, so I emailed @chockenberry my contributions and he added them to the Google Code SVN repo, which was eventually exported to GitHub and where my tiny contributions live on:

Added Martin's tweet controller · chockenberry/mobile-twitterrific@8267812

This is the Jailbreak version of Twitterrific. Contribute to chockenberry/mobile-twitterrific development by creating an account on GitHub.

Third-party clients like #tweetbot and #twitterrific *are* #Twitter to me. If they go away, so does the rest of my already-diminishing time on Twitter. I haven’t seen an ad or promoted tweet in 16 years and don’t intend to start now.

iPhone XS

After Apple announced the iPhone XS last month, I found myself having to consider a question I hadn’t considered since the spring of 2007: am I getting a new iPhone?

iOS 12 beta has been great all summer, but the 1Password update is what I’ve been most excited about. https://mastodon.social/media/tKmnbmWD1ru8qPDa1w4
