But this idiotic commentary -- and even more idiotic promotion of it by the Washington Post -- demonstrates contempt for pretty much everyone who correctly understands there is zero parallel between fascists in waiting and a poorly dressed politician.

Ben Ramsey@pluralistic After spending several months on Bluesky and working with the protocol (on building a PHP library for it), I realized it’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Even if/when they do federate, the intent appears to be for large companies to run major portions of the protocol.
And Bluesky just converted to a C corp to take on venture capital.
I deactivated my account last week because I won’t get fooled again.
(I now have that song by The Who stuck in my head.)

Lee FifeNow that a few republican leaders are gingerly stepping away from former guy, I realize I feel the same about them as I do about the journalists who are just now leaving extwitter.
I mean: good for you, it's about time. But don't expect any kind of medal or applause for finally doing the bare minimum that everyone with any decency and integrity did months or years ago. Don't get me wrong: you needed to do this. You just showed a lot about yourself by waiting to this point. So, I guess, welcome back into the human race ...
