It's fascinating to watch the UK media, and the @bbc in particular, switch into North Korea mode whenever there's a major royal event in the offing. It's a salutary reminder of where power really lies in this country and the structures that underpin it.
It's estimated the #Coronation will cost up to £100m, paid for by the taxpayer. There's no legal need for one. Charles is king without it. No other European monarchy bothers. The last one in Spain was in 1555. The Scandinavian monarchies deemed it unnecessary by 1906.
Éditions la Fabrique and Verso said that to “ask the representative of a publishing house questions, in a counter-terrorism framework, about the opinions of its authors, is to take the logic of political censorship and repression of dissenting currents of thought even further.”
Again, how has the UK slipped into being a country of political #censorship?
