@stroughtonsmith I believe there are 3 different resource limits (which have all existed since widgets started, but some got stricter in iOS18).
1) a 30MB memory limit while refreshing the widget
2) an archive size limit on the complexity of the swiftui view
3) an image resolution limit

2&3 seem to vary based on device/size and I believe are not specifically documented. Generally for #3 the limit seems roughly the size of a widget’s pixel bounds. So you have to resize down based on family.

When people talk about Apple missing Jobs, this is where I feel like it’s most obvious. I don’t see Steve ever letting #apple ship this feature and not have all the watch faces support it. #upgrade
I know there is a lot of unsatisfied users of Stage Manager on #ipadOS. It works well enough for me, I just really really wish it had a clamshell mode so my OLED display doesn’t have to be on when it’s connected to my Studio Display. Come #Apple make it happen!

These new iPads Pro are clearly the best iPads ever made, and most powerful hardware in this form factor by a long shot.
