I've been on a quest to slowly acquire meaningful Judaica that sparks joy where I'm both able to pay homage to my FIlipinx-ness, as well as my eventual Jewishness!
Part of the process has been making lists of materials, crops, fruits, vegetables, spices that are meaningful to either or both. (Wood: Acacia, Narra, Olive); Fruits: Pomegranate, Mango. Spices: Cinnamon, Clove)
I have a Shabbat candle and Havdallah area, where I also keep shelves of my siddurim, sefer, and other Jewish books.
In this economy, I'm collecting a little bit at a time, and making sure that I try to purchase relatively affordable things I really love!
🕯️🕯️Candlesticks (Looking for Filipino ones in particular)
🧼Negel Vasser
🫚🍷🕯️ set (just gonna go for a cheap set to start with since this is a lot of pieces)
🪙 Tzedakah box (currently fashioned from a glass jar.
Excited to engage in more grounding ritual!
Pictured are the remnants of lit Shabbos candles on a plate, and my menorah by my window!
