Generally curious.
Unnecessary effort.
Mostly wrong.

Software Developer by trade (#C) but also as a hobby (#zig/#ziglang). Interested in Systems-level programming, i.e. graphics and audio. Somehow drawn to UI development - I used to do web development, now only as a hobby.

I am strongly opposed to the societal impact of "AI" and all of the tech-bro hype machinery behind it. I will block on suspicion alone.

@tunda Du beschreibst Leerelemente: https://developer.mozilla.org/de/docs/Glossary/Void_element

@whitequark Do you know of any good guide to get all (or most) of this setup?

I am still running a bouncer and have my NickServ setup, but I don't want to fall behind on the latest benefits of IRC. 🙈

@ctietze Have you already discovered: https://vim.fandom.com/wiki/Accessing_the_system_clipboard

It also outlines how to always use the system clipboard as the default register, if that is what you want.

Accessing the system clipboard

When performing copy, cut, and paste with commands like y, d, and p, by default Vim uses its own location for this, called the unnamed register (:help quotequote). Note that this is different from what most modern graphical text editors and other applications like web browsers do; these applications interact with the system clipboard when using keybindings like CTRL-C, CTRL-X, and CTRL-V. Fortunately, in most cases it is easy to get Vim to work with the system clipboard. Vim offers the + and...

@stephenblum Pretty sure, that this is built-into vim: https://vim.fandom.com/wiki/Accessing_the_system_clipboard

But I appreciate, that you have a solution, that works for you!

It's so hard to get enthusiastic about anything these days... otherwise I would look into creating a custom Window Manager for River.

@Tywele

I have disabled the arrow keys in normal mode to exclusively use hjkl.

Also on my 60% keyboard I have a separate layer to emulate the arrow keys using hjkl.

@mthie Naja, wenn ich `x` und dann `:x`, dann hilft mir `u` ja nicht mehr.

Ich verstehe aber natürlich, was du meinst.
