Treat future you to good data sheets and consistent collection methods. You deserve it.

Calling all citizen scientists!
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency needs your help to collect information on a parasitic plant known as dodder (Cuscuta spp.).
Join the Cuscuta DNA barcoding project in #iNaturalist
By joining the project & reporting your observations, you can help build a collection of dodder #DNA barcodes from across Canada that will be used to help the #CFIA detect and manage this weed.

Many species of Cuscuta (dodders) are regulated at the federal level in Canada and have detrimental impacts on trade and the natural environment through their parasitic life style. We want to monitor the spread of these plants and obtain plant material to generate DNA barcodes that can allow us to identify and validate different species.
Researchers from the University of Cambridge have developed a method to produce very low emission concrete at scale – an innovation that could be transformative in the transition to net zero.
I think a simple change in nomenclature could help Mastodon incredibly. Servers is an inaccurate term and instance is unfamiliar and vague. Both create tension for new users.
Why not simply call Mastodon instances what they are: Communities.
Ask users which Mastodon community they'd like to join. Have community rules, community policy, and community leaders. Not server rules, instance moderators and administrators.
Let me start. Everyone is welcome at our community, https://thecanadian.social
#TIL that another common name for Tulip Tree is Yellow Poplar and I am upset about it!
"Tulip Tree" is so beautiful, and descriptive, and "Yellow Poplar" is just inaccurate, and blah. *grumps*
The American Ornithological Society says it will give new English-language names to *all* American birds currently named after people, in an effort to make birding more welcoming for all communities and to focus attention on the birds rather than historical namesakes.
