This week we had an air source heat pump fitted to replace the gas boiler. Living in a new build with underfloor heating and high levels of insulation, it’s an easy way to reduce our carbon footprint. But 3 days without heat and hot water in the coldest days so far in 2024 was challenging, but we’re back to being toasty again now. And thank you HMGov for the £7500 rebate under the gas boiler replacement scheme. Diolch yn fawr.

Moved back to #Wales after 50 years living in England. Originally from #Cwmbran. Love #beer, #rugby, #skiing, and #triathlon (World Triathlon Level 2 Official). since we moved to Wales last May, we’ve been seeing lots of adverts on community pages for Medium meetings - mediums as in contacting dead people. This is something we rarely saw when we lived in Sussex for many years before the move.
Is this a peculiarity of Wales? Do so many people believe in this guff??

The point I was making is not that any of these companies are good at filtering spam. My point is that defederation is analogous to block list such as SpamHaus and that it is unreasonable to expect that instance administrators can or will be able to enforce community standards.
Instead, we need an explicit OPT-IN mechanism where users can choose to receive from everyone, from only those they select or some definitions in between.

Spire Healthcare Cardiff - it takes you over a month to respond to an e-mail query about costs/timescales for a minor medical procedure?? In that period the #NHS has seen me 2x including a consultant meeting and procedure has been scheduled within next 6 months (an acceptable wait given it won’t cost me). Good old #NHS!
