@KorbsStudio been using it for 2+ years, only thing I dislike is that the mobile app kinda sucks, especially the calendar. Good thing the CalDAV sync works well though!

@zak my initial impression of it is that it’s a really fun slideshow!

The performance is really terrible, be prepared for that, but I’m loving the rest so far

This site makes me feel guilty about the fact I didn’t let mastodons on the Ark.

Got Pokémon Violet yesterday, played for a bit.

- it's fun! The open world seems engaging enough for me to want to explore it
- so many cute Pokémon! 😍
- holy crap it runs bad. Like incredibly bad. Even the FADE TO BLACK ANIMATION DROPS FRAMES! I thought my Switch went bad or something. I know GameFreak isn't known for delivering good performance but they really outdid themselves this time.
- best Pokémon slideshow I've ever played so far

@shipp @thomasfuchs I got Pokémon Violet and it's more like a fun slideshow game rather than a video game  thought my Switch was botched, but seems like they really did release something that runs this bad

Talking to users is critical. But an expert user isn't necessarily better than someone new to the system. They have embraced the mental model and built up hacks to fill the gaps. Your product's jank is part of their identity.

This is why domain experts are not "user proxies".

Talk to representative users, not the "best" ones.

JOURNALISM 101 RULE: If someone says it’s raining, and another person says it’s dry, it’s not your job to quote them both. Your job is to look out of the fucking window and find out which is true. — Now more than ever.
@danirabbit Unfortunately that's a common theme with Pokémon games. Being the biggest franchise in the world there's so much that depends on the game (merch, anime, movies, whatever) I'm pretty sure release dates are non-negotiable
