figured out why these beige unopened pc speakers were so cheap at the thrift store. usb-c adapter to the rescue!
Update v1.2 for the RPi Pico Timex Datalink adapter, fixed watch sync issues I had in Windows 11 that probably affected others https://github.com/famiclone6502/DIY_Datalink_Adapter
New blog post! When you need to run a huge MSX game, you need mapper logic. But what is a mapper, and how does it work? And hey, how does the MSX slot system work too? All this and looting ancient castles, on today's Leaded Solder. #retrogaming #retrocomputing #msx #kicad

New blog post! When it's time to play CGA dogfighting simulators, you can't do better than Sopwith. And what better system to play it on than my saved-from-the-grave Tandy 1000SX? https://www.leadedsolder.com/2024/06/11/tandy-1000sx-setup.html

I'm very excited to announce what I've been working on in the background for quite some time:

NES HUB:
A product to utilize the potential of the commercially unused NES Expansion Port.

Based on a new connector designed to fit perfectly into the Expansion Port.

“Everything you’ve heard is obsolete.” A very bold claim, but this sampler CD was enough to convince my family that we had to have one in 199x. It “converts” stereo into “3D surround sound” using only 2 speakers or even mono to stereo. Works with music/games/movies/anything. Unfortunately I didn’t find the power supply and there’s no voltage/polarity markings, so I’ll just have to wait to see if I’ve been missing out not using it this whole time. At least the CDs still work.
@hackaday @layers I wasn’t keeping up and didn’t realize how much innovation was going into the updates. The new supports look like a game changer! Can’t wait to try this with mine.
@janbeta This guy always sounds ungrateful, especially with hobbiest creations. They act like free stuff is such a burden, and the creators didn’t do a good enough job. At least they’ve shipped!

It’s alive! 🥳 Got 1 of 2 dead #Commodore #SX64 machines to boot. Saw cursor not blinking at #BASIC prompt could be loose IO board, & it was! Passes diagnostics, but #SID is missing instruments & internal speaker isn’t working. Disks unstested.

The other #luggable #C64 has many problems. Makes horrible speaker noise, disk drive spins, and garbage on the screen. Disconnecting IO board gets a white screen, which may be a bad PLA. Also has a custom ROM! 🤔

I need to order parts!
